Systems for municipal transportation services

Thanks to systems for municipal transportation services a paper stamp, or an electronic proximity card can replace a traditional ticket. Passenger data (name, photo etc.) are overprinted on a card, where the card electronic system contains the card validity. Updating or validity extension of a card consists in an electronic entry into this card. It is not necessary to issue new cards.

The lifetime of a proximity card is up to 5 years. Also a simplified version of the system is available, where instead of electronic proximity cards, plastic cards are used.

UNICARD implemented such systems or their components in eight cities, like in Kraków, Rzeszów, Lublin and Kielce.
